Careers at Ryan Contracting

Do it right. Not easy.

We hire the best people in heavy civil and back them with the equipment, training and leadership to do the best work in Minnesota.

Why crews choose Ryan

We're building the employer of choice in Minnesota heavy civil. Here's what that means on the job.

The right way, every time

Trenches get shored, pipe gets tested, grade gets checked, and restoration gets done like it's our own street. Nobody here gets asked to cut a corner.

Room to grow

We give our best people the chance to move up. Several of today's foremen started with us as laborers.

People stay

Many of our team members have been with Ryan for 15 years or more. That's the kind of crew you learn from.

Equipment worth running

New Komatsu PC490s, Topcon GPS with Komatsu intelligent machine control, and a fleet we keep maintained.

We invest in you

We help cover the cost of your CDL, track your renewals and pay for your DOT medical card. Ryan gear is on us, and foremen get a company truck and phone.

Steady work, union strength

City, private and concrete-subcontract work across Minnesota keeps crews busy all season, with Local 49 and Local 563 wages, benefits and pension.

Do things the right way, not the easy way.

  • Safety first. Every crew goes home the way they came in.
  • Quality you'd put your name on. Because it has ours on it.
  • Tell the truth. Especially when something goes wrong.
  • Leave it better. Every street, every yard, every job.
